Thomas was born in Smithfield and has lived in Johnston County his entire life living in the Brooklyn Historic District of downtown Smithfield for more than 30 years. He has a love for all things Johnston County and all things North Carolina and its wonderful communities.
Having experienced the construction boom in Johnston County his entire life, Thomas has fallen in love with the architectural differences of the homes in our community and the diverse population that such growth brings. Combining his love for people and his desire to help people find their PERFECT home, becoming a real estate broker seemed natural.
Attending college at Free Will Baptist Bible College (now Welch College) in Nashville, Tn, Thomas met and married the love of his life, Karen and together they have raised their four children in Smithfield and enjoy them all being local BUT especially enjoy being “DooDad and K-Ma” to their 4 grandkids whom Thomas refers to as his “Board of Directors”.
Thomas served local church for 31 years as a full time Worship Pastor retiring from Temple Church in Selma in May of 2021 where he served as their Worship & Operations Pastor which included serving as Temple’s Director of Finance. In Thomas’ free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Karen, their four children and their families (especially the grandkids), as well as bicycling, playing the piano, singing and cheering on the North Carolina Tar Heels. A visit to The Thomas Parker Realty Group office will reveal his love for music and the Tarheels.
Thomas opened his own real estate firm, The Thomas Parker Realty Group, in March of 2025 in the Brooklyn Historic District in Downtown Smithfield in a beautiful classic building built in 1900 on what is now South Fourth Street, adjacent to Smithfield’s Spring Branch waterway and continues to serve all of eastern NC with every real estate need.
